2018 Highlights

Proudly reflecting upon achievements of the last 12 months especially since their merger in July; 2018 has been an outstanding year of collaborative successes for the Go Supply Chain and Gideon Hillman Consulting teams, which between them now form The Supply Chain Consulting Group (SCCG), one of the UK’s largest Independant Logistics and Supply Chain Consultancies.

SCCG has been awarded several significant projects by new and existing clients alike, particularly in the e-commerce, FMCG, Retail, and Construction sectors; as well as for UK Logistics, Distribution and Warehousing. In addition to these project awards, 2018 saw Gideon Hillman Consulting and Go Supply Chain celebrate 14 years 5 years anniversaries respectively prior to merging.

Our successful merger, it seems, has acted as a perfect catalyst for SCCG’s steady rise to recognition within its specialist areas: Supply Chain and Logistics Operations; Distribution Network Strategy; Warehousing Operations, e-commerce Logistics and more.

SCCG has worked with many clients, existing and new, including construction sector clients British Gypsum and Weston Homes PLC; leading poultry processors Avara Foods (formed in a joint venture between Cargill’s UK fresh poultry business and Faccenda); Betty’s and Taylor’s of Harrogate the independent family business behind Taylors of Harrogate coffee and the famous Bettys Café Tea Rooms; multiple divisions of international distribution and outsourcing group Bunzl; leading UK retailer Co-op Group; wholesale giant and food retailer Bestway Group; IWG Group (formerly Regus) the multinational corporation that provides office accommodation across the Globe; Lorien Engineering  which provides engineering design, project management and technical consulting services for manufacturing plant and facility design to customers in a range of sectors; Global alcoholic drinks giant Diageo; Refresco (the world’s largest independent bottler of beverages for retailers and A-brands); leading Global paint and wall covering manufacturers and distributors PPG (retailing under their own brand Johnstone Decorating Stores); one of Europe’s leading privately owned food processors ABP Food Group and many more.

Throughout 2018, the SCCG team attended and exhibited at several well recognised industry exhibitions, including Multimodal and Intralogistex. In addition to this they were shortlisted as finalists for four different categories of awards, nominated by two different awarding bodies: The SHD Logistics Awards, and The Supply Chain Excellence Awards.

The team was shortlisted as finalists with BUILT/ an exciting and unique ‘click and collect’ drive-thru builders merchant backed by the largest builders merchants group in the UK, Travis Perkins PLC –  for the 2018 SHD Logistics awards; Nominated not only for ‘New Facility’, but also for ‘Innovation’ In addition the team was shortlisted for a joint award with Bunzl Group under the category ‘Operations Large’ for one of the many projects carried out for this multidivisional group.

Planning the prominent events diary for 2019, The SCCG team will return to the Ricoh Arena, Coventry for Intralogistex 2019, and the NEC for IMHX 2019 with stands already booked Intralogistex (stand 322) Running from 26th to 27th February 2019, IMHX 2019 (stands UK16 and 20D12) running from 24th – 27th Sept 2019. As always, the team eagerly anticipate attending these shows and presenting and discussing the expertise and benefits we provide to our clients.

The SCCG Directors voiced their appreciation for the team acknowledging the achievements attained:
“A big thank you to all of our suppliers and customers for their continuing support throughout 2018, and most notably so, through the transition period, successfully merging into The Supply Chain Consulting Group Ltd. We have once again been greatly impressed by our achievements throughout 2018 and thank our loyal consultant and support teams without which, we recognise, we could not continue to develop upon our client relationships, and business growth with such an effective growth rate.”
